Kate Mraw, RID ALEP, LPA Design Studios

This session will include an interactive process that begins on day 1 of the conference with thought starters that reflect on various topics that are being addressed throughout the session around early childhood education and design. The participants will be exposed to research and ideas in areas of sensory experience, parent and community engagement, learners in space and the furniture that supports their journey. At the conclusion of the discussion, we will identify the top 5 spatial elements that should be further explored in relation to early childhood education.

Learning Objectives:

Gain a collective understanding of the state of early childhood education
Understand how diverse perspectives on similar topics can influence a dialogue
Reflect on how space impacts behavior and learning at an early age
Identify opportunities for furthering research on early childhood educational design
